"I still believe in a place called Hope, a place called America."
~BILL CLINTON, speech at Democratic National Convention, August 29, 1996
"WASHINGTON — President Clinton signed legislation Tuesday directing that a greater portion of federal Head Start money be used to improve quality in the popular preschool program rather than to expand its enrollment.
The law also creates a five-year test program allowing about 50,000 low-income families to save for a first home, college, or business start-up, with each dollar they save matched by the federal government. The so-called individual development accounts come with a $125-million price tag."

I think that Bill Clinton did a good job supporting the Head Start Program but want about the people in the middle class. Is it fair for their children to miss out on an opportunity of early education because of the parent's income. I think all children should be allowed tyo attend Head Start.
ReplyDeleteHead Start does accept a certain percentage of over income families however, head start is a needs based program. I agree with your point that it seems unfair for middle class families to miss out on early education due to income but I think lower to no income families do need it more. Some middle class families to have the means to to afford early education for their children.
